This succulent plant loves coastal sun when established, and only partial shade inland or in hotter climates. It is a subtropical shrub which prefers a moist environment. Aeoniums will suffer in high heat/dry conditions, and most are dormant in the summer.
Aeoniums have shallow roots and will want to be watered when the soil is dry to the touch, especially during peak growth season.
